Breakfast Smoothie Recipe

I drink a variation of this Smoothie Recipe every morning. As Klancy Miller @klancycooks , author of Cooking Solo, said to me over lunch one day in NYC, a morning smoothie is an easy way to jumpstart your metabolism and begin eating the 5-13 daily serving of fruits and vegetables we need each day. Oh, and it’s really yummy and kind to your waistline too! 😉

  • 1 cup Total Greek Yoghurt
  • 1 cup whole Strawberries
  • 1 cup Kale
  • 1 chopped Apple
  • 1 frozen Banana
  • Juice of 1 Lemon
  •  1/2 tsp Pure Vanilla Powder
  •  2 tbsp Flax Seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 1 cup Ice

(2 Servings)

Put everything in order listed in vitamix. Choose Frozen Desserts setting and let that magic machine do the work!

(Jackie’s Tip 💡:  Buy strawberries, bananas, lemons, apples, individual cups of Greek yoghurt and pre-washed bagged Kale whenever you make a grocery run.  This ensures you always have these staple ingredients on hand to make this basic smoothie. I use them daily so they never get a chance to spoil.  If you have some extra busy days or head out for a trip, throw peeled bannans, chopped apples, kale or washed strawberries in the freezer to use next week.  Eating healthy is super easy if you just plan ahead and get in a rhythm!)
