I try to pack as much good stuff in my morning smoothie glass as humanly possible. I don’t take a multi-vitamin, supplement or any other pills (except the little blue one! 😜) because I try to get everything my body needs from the foods I eat.
I am allergic to anti-inflammatory drugs. Go figure. I know. As much as I work out and demand of my body, a sister would love to take a ibuprofen every now and again, but it makes me short of breath and causes red hives around my eyes. My regular readers know I am much too vain for those side-effects. Because of my allergy, I have researched foods that will naturally ease sore, agitated muscles and reduce swelling: Tumeric, Pineapple, Walnuts & Ginger.
Walk into your day knowing that this smoothie is soothing your muscles, jump starting your metabolism and packing your body with all the mult-vitamins and nutrients you need to crush your goals!
Jackie Anti-Inflammatory Smoothie
The turmeric, pineapple, ginger and walnuts all have natural anti-inflammatory properties.
- 1 Cup Almond Milk Unsweetened
- 2 Cups Strawberries
- 2 Cups Packed Spinach
- 1 Cup Pineapple Frozen
- 1/4 Cup Blueberries
- 1 Tsp Tumeric
- 1/2 Tsp Cinnamon
- 1 Honeycrisp Apple Cored & Chopped
- 1 Tbsp Maple Syrup
- 1 Peeled Orange
- 1 Tbsp Raw Walnuts
- 1 pinch Sea Salt
- 2 Tbsp Almond Butter
- 1 Inch Ginger Fresh Cut, Peeled
- 1 Cup Water
- 1 Cup Ice
Put everything in order listed in a Vitamix or other high-powered blender. If using a Vitamix, choose 'Frozen Desserts' setting and let that magic machine do the work! Once the blender stops, check the consistency. Add more water if you prefer a thinner smoothie or more ice if you prefer it frothier.
As always, thank you for stopping by Jackie Unfiltered. Have an awesome day!
