Non-Dairy Homemade Coconut Milk Recipe

Use shredded unsweetened coconut for a healthy dairy-free milk alternative.

Prep Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups Water Steaming hot but not boiling
  • 2 Cups Shredded Coconut Unsweetened
  • Pinch of sea salt

Instructions

  1. Place coconut, water and pinch of salt in a Vitamix or blender. Blend on high for 1 minute until the mixture is thick and creamy resembling milk.

  2. If you are using the coconut milk to drink alone, for a latte or chocolate milk then pour the mixture through a mesh strainer to remove small bits of coconut.  If you are using the mixture in a soup or smoothie recipe, you can skip this straining step.  

  3. Drink/use immediately or store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days in a tight container like a mason jar.  If you store in the refrigerator, seperation is normal.  Just gently shake before using.  

  4. Enjoy this preservative free non-dairy milk!
